現地習得で中~上級レベルまで到達した言語であれば4週間ほどで取り戻せる。
例）英語話者によるドイツ語（外国語）復活プロセス
1~7日：英語字幕付きのドイツ語映画（最低2時間）1週間毎日視聴
3日目から：会話が多い漫画10~20ページをドイツ語で毎朝、寝る前に30分読む
飛行機で：フレーズブックで常用表現を思い出す※45分勉強×15分休憩
到着後：マンガ継続、必要に応じて文法参照、会話中に出てくる聞いたことあるけど分からない語彙は電子辞書で確認
2~3週間目：30~60枚フラッシュカードを毎日。
必要になったら取り戻せるんだから、心配ご無用！
※背景色をダークグリーンにしたら読みやすくなった！
Passive vocabulary
読んだり聞いたりしたときに「意味は分かる」けど、実際に自分の「使用言語(Active vocabulary)」ストックに入ってないボキャブラリーを洗い出し。
オンラインの英英辞典で定義と例文をピックアップ。
prospect: the possibility that something will happen in the future
- He had no prospects of getting any money.
Prospects don't look good. - There is a good prospect in investing in the communication industry.
ビジネス分野に縁がないもんで、私にはあんまり身近じゃない単語。possibilityで言っていたところを、prospectを使って表現してみよう。
expiration dates
主婦としてはよくよく意識に上がるはずの単語、なんだけど英語で意識したことなかったな！ちょっと冷蔵庫の食材チェックしてみよう。
interference (n) =conflict, obstruction
interfere (v): to stop or slow (something) : to make (something) slower or more difficult =prevent
- We had to put up with loud noise and constant interference from the neighbors.
- I'm sick and tired of the way he's always interfering in my life.
同じ語から派生するadjとかn、vは一緒にチェック。

bloat (n) = inflate, puff up, expand
twang (n): a harsh, quick sound made by pulling something (such as a wire) tight and then letting it go
: the typical sound of the speech of people from a certain place
このあたりの語彙は「へぇ」って思ったけどActive vocabに入れなくてもイイやって思ったからサラッとチェックするだけ。

irretrievable: impossible to recover or get back
- The data was irretrievable after the computer crashed.

retrieve (v): to get and bring (something) back from a place
- Police retrieved his stolen car.
- They were able to retrieve [=save] the situation.
retrieve ⇒retrievable⇒irretrievable
みたいにごちゃごちゃくっついてできた語は分解して把握しておく。
decent (adj) : polite, moral, and honest : good enough but not the best : adequate or acceptable : not using language that offends people
- He is a decent guy who would help anyone in need.
- You need to do the decent thing and tell her what happened.
- It's really decent [=nice, thoughtful] of them to help us like this.
- He makes a decent living. = He has a job making/earning decent money.
- Please keep your jokes decent—there are children in the room.
人の性質を表すときはかなりポジティブ（いい人）だけど、状態とかモノだとそれなりってニュアンスかな。「子どもが聞いてるのよ、decentに話して」なんて言い方のときはまた違った意味になるのがオモシロイ。
testament : proof or evidence that something exists or is true
「遺書」がtestamentで言い表されるのがなんだか意外だった。
efficacy (n)
- The efficacy [=effectiveness] of this treatment has not yet been proved.
単純にeffectというときと違うのは、期待した効果があるかどうかってニュアンスが含まれること。
dilute (v) : to lessen the strength of (something)
- You can dilute the medicine with water.
発音はディルートじゃなくてダイルート。「薄める」って語彙そのものの難易度は高くない（日常的）のに、初耳だった単語。
